Stroma Certification provides certification for plumbers with measures covered by our UKAS accredited Competent Person Scheme. This offers recognised certification to plumbers to carry out installation work in compliance with the Building Regulations. We also provide certification for plumbers under PAS 2030 for specified Green Deal measures.

UKAS accredited schemes

Competent Person Scheme (CPS)

Our UKAS accredited Competent Person Scheme offers several measures of certification for plumbers, allowing an installer to self-notify work in compliance with the Building Regulations. Certification under CPS affords a plumber potential savings into the hundreds of pounds per notified job (up to £241).

The plumbing-specific measures covered by our CPS scheme are:

Installation of a sanitary convenience, sink, washbasin, bidet, fixed bath, shower or bathroom in a dwelling, which does not involve work on shared or underground drainage
Installation of a wholesome cold water supply or a softened wholesome cold water supply
Installation of a supply of non-wholesome water to a sanitary convenience fitted with a flushing device, that does not involve work on shared or underground drainage

Our Competent Person Scheme holds UKAS accreditation under ISO/IEC 17065:2012.

Annual membership £240+VAT. Online notification fee £1.50
Includes membership for up to 10 operatives & assessment of 2 operatives; £50 for each additional operative assessment. Postal notifications are available at £2.50 per measure for CPS.

Green Deal Installer (GDI – PAS 2030)

Plumbers can also join our Green Deal Installer Certification scheme which allows you to install Water Efficient Taps & Showers in compliance with the requirements of PAS 2030.

Our Green Deal Installer Certification scheme is DCLG approved and accredited by UKAS in line with ISO 17065:2012.

Application is a one-off fee. Postal notifications are available for £3.00 per property. All prices exclude VAT.

Adding TrustMark to your certification

Plumbers can also choose to add TrustMark membership to your Competent Person Scheme or Green Deal Installer certification. TrustMark operates one of the largest databases of competent installers and allows a homeowner to search for plumbers online. Stroma Certification is an approved TrustMark Scheme Operator and membership can be added for only £50+VAT per annum.

Assessment

We care about maintaining standards within the plumbing and other major UK trades. That’s why our thorough assessment procedure is so highly regarded:

The office assessment looks at your company policies, documents and procedures and may include some technical questions about the plumbing industry
The practical On Site Assessment will allow you to demonstrate a typical installation in order for the assessor to confirm your technical expertise

The assessment process is designed to be a thorough but fair assessment of a professional installer. It is designed to confirm your competency rather than unfairly trick or confuse. The installer is assessed to confirm their technical expertise ‘against the measure(s)/scope of certification they have applied for’.

Submit notifications online with our Installer Portal

The software development team at our sister company, Stroma Software, have developed our Installer Portal which we provide free to members of our installer certification schemes. This allows a plumber to notify your installation work for either CPS or GDI (PAS 2030) online, saving on both time and cost.
