Stroma Certification’s Section 63 Certification scheme is designed to help Non-Domestic Energy Assessors to lodge Section 63 Action Plans in Scotland. This is in line with new legislation for Scotland which comes into force on 1st September 2016.
New legislation comes into force in Scotland on 1st September 2016, which states that an additional assessment is required for all non-domestic buildings (over 1000m2). The assessment document created will be a Section 63 Action Plan. An EPC also remains a requirement for sale or rent of such a property.
Section 63 Certification is applicable to both Non-Domestic Energy Assessors (NDEAs) and DEC Assessors. Qualified NDEAs need to undergo a Section 63 training course in order to become a Section 63 Advisor.

The improvement measures within the Section 63 Action Plan are not compulsory and can be deferred. In this case, a qualified DEC Assessor can produce a DEC for the property on an annual basis.
Existing DEC Assessors must complete Stroma Certification’s DEC APEL course to provide this service.
