Explaining the ISO 14001 Process

The process begins with your application. By completing our ISO 14001 quote form we can provide you with an indicative quote for certification of your Environmental Management System (EMS). Once you are happy with your quote and have completed an application form, we can begin the audit and surveillance procedure to certify your EMS to the ISO 14001 standard. In awarding certification there is a two stage audit procedure that the EMS is checked against to ensure it fulfils the ISO 14001 requirements.

  • Stage 1 audit – This is a site based audit which examines the processes you already have in place for environmental management to see if they are sufficient to confirm to ISO 14001
  • Stage 2 audit – Once the Stage 1 audit and its recommendations have been satisfied our ISO 14001 audit team will check for evidence that the processes identified at Stage 1 are being completed

ISO 14001 Certification is granted once the audit procedure has been completed in full and the EMS has been signed off.
