What is Green Deal Installer Certification?

The Green Deal is a Government initiative which provides funding to allow homeowners to make energy-saving improvements to their property. Measures covered by the Green Deal included insulation, heating, double glazing and renewable technology. To qualify for Green Deal funding the installation must have been completed by a Green Deal Installer who is a member of a GDI Certification scheme.

Why join our GDI scheme?

Stroma Certification is synonymous with the Green Deal and we were involved in the development of the first formal certification schemes for GDAOs and GDIs.

By joining our GDI Certification scheme you will be able to display the Green Deal Quality Mark. This mark of approval is given to all certified Green Deal Installers, Advisors, Assessor Organisations and Providers.

What is the GDI assessment procedure?

Our expert audit team will visit you to carry out an assessment. Your Stroma assessor will first audit your written documentation. This is called your desktop (or office) assessment. Then they will undertake a site assessment to cover each type of work for which you have applied under GDI Certification. Your assessment will be reviewed on an annual basis to maintain your certification.

Stroma Certification will perform a combined visit for the GDI measures included in your application. The assessment should include examination of all GDI measures applied for before certification can be awarded.

What is the Quality Management System?

A key part of the application process for PAS 2030 is to implement a compliant Quality Management System (or QMS). A QMS defines the processes and procedures followed by your business in the completion of any client or customer work. Stroma can advise you about approved systems. During the desktop assessment the assessor will audit your QMS documentation and provide an action plan to correct any non-conformities.
