Air Conditioning Energy Assessor (ACEA) Training

Air Conditioning Energy Assessor (ACEA) Training

Stroma Certification provides ABBE (the Awarding Body for the Built Environment) approved Air Conditioning Energy Assessor training courses at Level 3 and Level 4 to qualify as an Air Conditioning Energy Assessor (ACEA). Our equivalent ACEA Certification scheme is authorised by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). By achieving certification you can undertake qualified and accredited inspections of air conditioning systems.

Complete the ACEA training with Stroma Certification and you’ll gain membership of a fully audited air-conditioning scheme. As an air-conditioning assessor you can help building owners and managers to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption, operating costs and carbon emissions for their air-conditioning systems.

Did you know?

All air-conditioning systems with an effective rated output of more than 12kW must be inspected by a qualified and accredited air-conditioning energy assessor every 5 years.

Choosing the right ACEA training course

Energy Assessors wishing to produce Inspection Reports for central air conditioning systems will need to gain the Level 4 qualification.

A Level 4 ACEA is able to assess complex, central air conditioning systems, as well as simple unitary, split, multi-split and variable refrigerant flow systems.

Course Content

Our ACEA training is ABBE approved and a registration fee of £230+VAT is payable to the awarding body on upon course completion. We offer ACEA training across the UK and can provide the course at a location of your choosing for groups of four or more individuals.

Level 3 Course:

  • Theoretical and practical survey/inspection skills
  • Software skills
  • How to produce reports for simple unitary, split, multi-split and simple VRF systems
  • Combines classroom-based theory modules and inspections

Level 4 Course:

  • An induction covering the legislative background, an introduction to the TM44 methodology and details of how to assemble the Portfolio of Evidence
  • Training on the technologies, components and systems associated with central air conditioning
  • A simulated air conditioning assessment

On completion of the course, candidates must assemble a Portfolio of Evidence to demonstrate their competence, including real Inspection Reports for three Level 3 or four Level 4 systems. The portfolio is formally assessed to verify that the candidate meets the minimum requirements of the National Occupational Standards for an ACEA.

Finally, all candidates must pass a short external examination set and marked by ABBE (The Awarding Body for the Built Environment).
