ISO 9001 Certification: In more detail

Stroma Certification's ISO 9001 Auditors take the burden away from your business when granting ISO 9001 Certification. For a more detailed explanation of how we work to certify your QMS please read on below:

STEP 1: APPLICATION

All you have to do is complete our simple ISO 9001 online application form. Our Certification team will do the rest:

  • Clients first complete our online ISO 9001 application form
  • Forms are reviewed by our application team – additional information may be requested
  • Office locations and audit requirements are reviewed and a Certification Audit Programme sent to the client

Result: Clients sign a formal agreement to the ISO 9001 audit programme

STEP 2: INITIAL ISO 9001 CERTIFICATION*

Your QMS goes through the applicable audit(s) before ISO 9001 Certification is awarded:

  • Stage 1 audit plan created
  • Stage 1 audit takes place and feedback is provided to the client
  • Improvement actions are highlighted (if necessary)
  • Stage 2 audit plan created
  • Stage 2 audit takes place and any improvement actions are raised to the client
  • Once any improvements are made initial certification for ISO 9001 is recommended

Result: ISO 9001 Certification is awarded to the client

STEP 3: SURVEILLANCE AUDITS

Surveillance audits take place within 12 months of the Stage 2 audit and then at least annually thereafter:

  • Client and Stroma Certification communicate any changes to the business and the certification procedure since the last audit
  • Certification programmes and audit teams are agreed with the client
  • Surveillance audit takes place and any improvement actions are raised
  • Once any improvement actions are satisfied, Stroma Certification reviews the ISO 9001 audit file

Result: ISO 9001 Certification is maintained

STEP 4: RE-CERTIFICATION

Re-certification activities include any actions required before the expiry of an existing ISO 9001 Certification (every 3 years):

  • Client and Stroma Certification communicate any changes to the business and the certification procedure since the last audit
  • Certification programmes and audit teams are agreed with the client
  • Re-certification audit takes place and any improvement actions are raised with the client
  • Once any improvement actions are satisfied, Stroma Certification reviews the ISO 9001 audit file
  • ISO 9001 Certification is granted for a further 3 year cycle

Result: ISO 9001 Certification is awarded to the client
