Renewables installers can gain certification to carry out installation of a number of renewable technology measures through our UKAS-accredited Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). MCS-certified installers are able to undertake the compliant installation of these renewable measures.
Stroma Certification is licensed to operate Microgeneration Certification Schemes for installers under UKAS Accredited Product Certification ISO 17065:2012.

Our UKAS accredited Microgeneration Certification Scheme is designed to allow renewables installers to benefit from work generated through Government energy efficiency incentives. Only a certified-MCS installer can carry out installation of a renewable technology to the required compliance and safety standards.

Microgeneration installers also have the option of adding certification of our Competent Person Scheme to your membership, within the same assessment regime, allowing you to self-notify renewable installations in compliance with the Building Regulations.
Stroma Certification is an approved TrustMark Scheme Operator and can offer membership to renewables installers for only £50+VAT. Solar PV, Solar Thermal, Heat Pumps and Biomass are covered under Energy Saving Measures. By adding TrustMark to your certification with Stroma you can have your business listed on the UK’s only Government approved search facility for reliable tradespersons.

You will need to provide evidence of appropriate, policies, procedures and insurance documents. In addition, members of our Microgeneration Certification Scheme need to be members of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC) or the Trading Standards Institute (TSI) approved Consumer Code Scheme contractor scheme.
Following your application to our MCS scheme our Installer team will contact you to book an assessment. This will involve a member of our expert assessment team visiting you to perform an office-based check of your policies and procedures; followed by a practical assessment of a typical installation to determine compliance. The assessment is thorough but well within the aptitude of a professional renewable installer.
