Section 63 training

Section 63 training

Stroma Certification has been granted approval to run Section 63 and DEC (APEL) training courses in Scotland to align Non-Domestic Energy Assessors (NDEAs) with the relevant legislation. By booking our combined Section 63 and DEC training courses delegates can make a saving of over £150.

Section 63 Regulations

Section 63 regulations came into force on 1st September 2016. In addition to the non-domestic EPC, owners of larger buildings (with a floor area greater than 1000m2) are required to undertake a Section 63 assessment and produce an Action Plan. This plan identifies improvements for the carbon and energy performance of the building.

Section 63 Training

Stroma Certification Section 63 Training is designed to prepare existing NDEAs to undertake the assessments in a compliant manner. Applicants are required to undertake provided pre-course reading detailing an overview of Section 63 legislation and the conditions for compliance.

DEC APEL Application Assessment

It is possible to defer implementation measures in a Section 63 Action Plan if a DEC is completed each year instead. As an established DEC Certification scheme provider, Stroma Certification is offering a DEC APEL course for Scottish DECs only.

Applicants are required to undertake provided pre-course reading and knowledge & understanding questions. This is an APEL application process and an assessment will be made after the training course is completed. Upon successful completion, assessors will receive a Stroma certificate which will allow you to lodge DECs in Scotland only.
