ESOS CERTIFICATION




Stroma Certification's ESOS Certification scheme is designed to certify ESOS Lead Assessors in line with the requirements of the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS). Our ESOS Register is approved by the Environment Agency on behalf of the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. By becoming an ESOS Lead Assessor, individuals can work with large organisations to assess and reduce their energy consumption. ESOS Lead Assessors can also sign off improvements works as having been carried out using an appropriate methodology aligned to ESOS Scheme Guidance.

What is the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme?

ESOS is a mandatory energy audit scheme for all qualifying UK organisations who meet a given criteria, namely:

  • Organisations employing at least 250 people
  • Organisations with an annual turnover exceeding €50 million and an annual balance sheet total exceeding €43 million
  • Please refer to the Gov.uk website for more information regarding ESOS compliance criteria

Organisations who meet these criteria must undergo an ESOS audit every 4 years to assess their energy consumption. There is a requirement for organisations to notify the Environment Agency that they are compliant with the ESOS regulations within a given compliance period.

Why join our ESOS Certification scheme?

ESOS energy audits can only be signed off by a qualified ESOS Lead Energy Assessor. ESOS compliance is mandatory for UK qualifying organisations and by adding your name to our ESOS Lead Energy Assessor Register you are demonstrating your ability to sign off their ESOS compliance work.

We also provide a one day ESOS training course.

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate sufficient competence in accordance with the requirements of PAS 51215. This includes a minimum length of two years of professional energy assessment and energy audit experience. We’ll respond to your application within 72 hours to confirm your pre-assessment and training dates.

The pre-assessment takes place with a member of our ESOS team. It is designed to assess your skillset, analyse your application and measure your experience against the scheme requirements.
